OUR STORY
Drinkable Destinations was formed in 2017 as a travel brand to offer international vacations centered around culture, history, food and beer! (and other delicious drinks, too). We want our guests to be as excited about history and beer culture as we are, so we geek out right along with you. We also want our guests to feel like true travelers who become immersed in the places we visit rather than tourists quickly hitting the highlights, so we focus on small group travel while partnering with local experts to give you a truly local experience.

Husband and wife duo Robyn Klinge and Justin Schmitz have been heavily involved in the beer and tourism industry for many years. Robyn Klinge founded the Females Enjoying Microbrews (FEMs) group in Madison, WI in 2012 and co-founded Madison Craft Beer Week in 2010. Justin Schmitz co-founded Hop Head Tours, a brewery bus and bike tour service in Madison and Milwaukee in 2010, has worked at three brewpubs since 2005. Robyn and Justin traveled extensively in Europe and have hosted several small group tours to their favorite areas. In 2023, an opportunity presented itself and they lived in Amsterdam, Netherlands for a year, using the time to visit new places and re-visit favorite locations. They returned to their home in Madison, WI in 2024, relaunching Drinkable Destinations post pandemic. Both Robyn and Justin are certified Cicerone Beer Servers.

WHAT MAKES OUR TOURS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER TOUR OUFITS?
1. Local Tour Guides - We don't live in Europe but we have lived in Europe and have traveled extensively. Even so, we feel that our tour guests are best served by using local tour guides that we have vetted for our tours. The experience is so much more rich when stories are heard from people who live in the areas we are visiting.

2. Small Group Sizes - We believe that small group sizes make for better experiences. Small groups allow our guests to form closer relationships with us, our local guides and each other It also gives us more intimate access to places, restaurants and attractions.
Minimum: 8 Maximum: 12 |
3. It's not only about beer and breweries - We love beer and learning it's history and cultural implications. But we're not a one trick pony only visiting breweries all day, every day. (if you've seen one room of stainless steel tanks...)
We love all sorts of history, culture, food and attractions so we blend our thirst for great local beer with local history, culture and attractions. And at the end of a day of touring, we'll find a great spot to sit back and enjoy our Drinkable Destination! |
