​Brussels is a city that feels lived-in and real—in the best way. It’s busy, a little messy, and full of personality, shaped by centuries of trade, politics, and everyday life. As Belgium’s capital and a crossroads for people from across Europe, Brussels has an energy that’s constantly shifting and easy to sink into.
At the center of it all is Grand Place, one of the most impressive squares in Europe. Ornate guild houses, Gothic spires, and richly detailed façades surround the square, making it the perfect place to slow down. One of our favorite pastimes here is simple: sitting at a café, beer in hand, and watching the city pass by.
Brussels is also made for wandering between bites. We love snacking our way through town with Belgian frites, waffles, and chocolate, then ducking into the lively maze of Delirium Village to explore just how deep Belgian beer culture really runs.
Our Brussels City Guide is more compact than our Amsterdam or Munich guides, mainly because we haven’t spent as much time here—yet. Most spots listed are places we’ve personally visited, with a few trusted recommendations we’re excited to explore ourselves.
