Day 1: Welcome to Ghent!
Meet us in Ghent and settle into our hotel before heading out together for a relaxed welcome dinner. We’ll kick things off with a Belgian classic—moules-frites—paired with our first local beers as the group gets acquainted. It’s an easy, convivial first night that sets the tone for the days ahead. Day 2: Medieval Ghent & Local Beer Cafés. This morning, we’ll meet our local guide and set off on a walking history tour through Ghent’s atmospheric old town. Along the way, you’ll learn how this medieval city grew into one of Europe’s most influential trading centers. We’ll pause for lunch at a cozy Belgian café before touring Gravensteen Castle—a dramatic 12th-century fortress surrounded by a moat in the heart of the city. By mid-afternoon, the schedule opens up. With our hand-picked recommendations, you’re free to explore Ghent at your own pace—ducking into inviting beer cafés, wandering medieval streets, or lingering a little longer wherever the city pulls you in. |

Day 3: Storybook Bruges: Today we head to Bruges by private coach, a city that feels like it was built for wandering. After arriving, we’ll meet our local guide for a walking tour through cobbled streets, canals, and perfectly preserved medieval squares, followed by a scenic canal cruise that shows the city from the water. Lunch brings us to De Halve Maan Brewery, where we’ll enjoy a beer sampling alongside our meal. Afterward, we’ll continue exploring Bruges’ brewing traditions with a stop at Bourgogne de Flandres, another historic brewery tucked into the heart of the city. The afternoon is yours to enjoy. With several hours of free time, you can explore at your own pace—browse chocolate shops, linger in a café, or simply wander until something catches your eye. We’ll regroup in the early evening and return to Ghent. Day 4: Flanders Fields & Trappist Traditions A private coach takes us into southwest Flanders, where history comes sharply into focus. We’ll meet a knowledgeable local guide in Ypres for a moving tour of World War I battlefields, including preserved trenches and solemn military cemeteries that mark one of the war’s most significant frontlines. After the tour, we’ll stop in Ypres for lunch before heading to In De Vrede, the café across from the Abbey of Saint Sixtus. Here, you’ll have the rare opportunity to sample Westvleteren Trappist ales—famed for their scarcity and often whispered about as the world’s best. Later in the afternoon, we’ll head next door to St. Bernardus Brewery for a group dinner and beer sampling at their rooftop restaurant, Bar Bernard, overlooking the surrounding countryside. That evening, we’ll settle in for the night in Ypres. |

Day 5: Flemish Reds and Brussels NightsThis morning, we depart Ypres and make our way to Brouwerij Verhaeghe, the brewery behind the iconic Duchesse de Bourgogne. We’ll enjoy an exclusive tour and tasting, diving into the traditions and techniques that define this classic Flemish red ale.
After the visit, we’ll stop for lunch at a local café before continuing on to Brussels. Once we arrive and check in, the evening is yours to enjoy. Our hotel is within easy walking distance of Delirium Café, making it simple to pop in for a nightcap—or explore any of Brussels’ many beer bars, restaurants, and lively streets at your own pace. Day 6: Brussels by Foot and by Glass
We’ll start the day with a guided walking tour through Brussels’ historic city center, taking in grand squares, hidden lanes, and the layers of history that shaped the city. After the tour, we’ll enjoy lunch at a local beer café before continuing on foot to Cantillon Brewery for a guided tour of this traditional lambic brewery, complete with a tasting. The evening is free for you to explore Brussels on your own—whether that means revisiting a favorite beer bar, discovering a new neighborhood, or simply soaking up the city’s atmosphere at your own pace. Day 7: A Proper Belgian Farewell. Our final day together begins at an easy pace, with the morning free for you to explore Brussels on your own—perfect for last-minute shopping, a favorite café revisit, or one more stroll through the city.
In the mid-afternoon, we’ll regroup and head out into the countryside for a memorable finale. The evening includes a visit to a rural brewery, a farewell dinner shared as a group, and a lively night at the legendary Night of the Great Thirst in the small Brussels suburb of Dilbeek—a fitting, celebratory way to close out our time together. . |

1. Local Tour Guides - We don't live in Belgium but we have lived in Europe and have traveled extensively. Even so, we feel that our tour guests are best served by using local tour guides that we have established relationships with for our tours. The experience is so much more rich when stories are heard from people who live in the areas we are visiting.
|
2. Small Group Sizes - We believe that small group sizes make for better experiences. Small groups allow our guests to form closer relationships with us, our local guides and each other. It also gives us more intimate access to places, restaurants and attractions.

3. It's not only about beer and breweries - We love beer and learning it's history and cultural implications. But we're not a one trick pony visiting breweries all day, every day. (if you've seen one room of stainless steel tanks...)
We love all sorts of history, culture, food and attractions so we blend our thirst for great local beer with local history, culture and attractions. And at the end of a day of touring, we'll find a great spot to sit back and enjoy our Drinkable Destination! |
